Bicheno

Bicheno is a small coastal town on Tasmania’s east coast that is known for its scenic beaches and marine life. It is a convenient stop for those exploring the coastline between Hobart and Launceston.

The town is well-regarded for its penguin tours, where visitors can observe little penguins returning to their nests at dusk. Bicheno’s coastal waters are also home to diverse marine life, making the area a favoured spot for diving and snorkelling, particularly around the Governor Island Marine Reserve.

Bicheno’s Blowhole, a natural rock formation, attracts visitors with its dramatic spray of seawater, especially during rough seas. The town also offers access to local vineyards and the nearby Douglas-Apsley National Park, known for its rugged terrain, waterfalls and walking trails.
