Hobart Airport (HBA)
Gateway to Tasmania
Hobart Airport, around 20km east of Hobart, is the main gateway for visitors to Tasmania.
The main airlines serving Hobart Airport are Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Australia with direct flights to Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Air New Zealand also operate seasonal flights to Auckland.

Despite its relatively small size, the airport includes a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, offering everything from quick snacks to sit-down meals.

Qantas business class travellers and travellers with Sapphire and Emerald status on a Oneworld airline, including gold and platinum Qantas frequent flyers, get access to the Qantas Club lounge when travelling on Jetstar or Qantas. Virgin Australia does not have a lounge at Hobart Airport.
Transport into the city centre
The SkyBus Hobart Express bus operates between the airport and Hobart city centre, with buses running every 30–50 minutes and a journey time into the city centre of around half an hour. The SkyBus route includes stops at key locations in Hobart, including major hotels in the CBD. The SkyBus isn’t a particularly cheap option as they’ve more or less have a monopoly on the route; however, it’s convenient and cheaper than taking a taxi.
Most car rental companies have a presence at the airport.
